During November, St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic School students in Seaford, NY, participated in a month-long Reading and Math “Turkey Trot” Challenge utilizing the iReady Personalized Instruction Digital Platform.
Each week, the grade level with the highest percentage of successfully completed lessons earned a prize, while also setting their sights on earning the Grand Prize of “sliming” Principal Elizabeth Bricker at the conclusion of the competition. It was a tight race, but in the end, SWS First Graders prevailed and took top honors! As promised, Principal Bricker, wearing a turkey costume, was “slimed” by her “Firsties” (first graders)!
Joining in the fun was iReady character “Plory,” who brought lots of smiles to the faces of SWS students! A great day, and a great motivator to practice Reading and Math skills!
