It was another wonderful winter week at the Diocese of Rockville Centre Catholic schools! Many DRVC students celebrated Our Lady during the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, while others prepared for the coming Christmas season. Students and families grew in fellowship and built community through volunteer work, fundraisers, and exercise. Students also carried on wonderful Christmas traditions and celebrated impressive academic achievements.

A Week of Full Bellies and Full Hearts! π¦π½οΈπ
What a fantastic Thanksgiving season itβs been! From full bellies to full hearts, our students have been celebrating the holiday spirit in so many meaningful ways! Our students kicked off the festivities with a huge success at their first Thanksgiving feastβsmiles everywhere and gratitude all around! A big thank you to all the volunteers and families who made these special moments possible. Our Fourth and Fifth Graders came together for a cozy afternoon watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, reflecting on the importance of friendship and thankfulness. Meanwhile, our youngest learners got into the Thanksgiving spirit with fun turkey crafts, filling the classrooms with creativity and cheer. The generosity of our community continues to shine, as families donated food and grocery gift cards, ensuring that others could enjoy a joyful holiday. Your kindness is deeply appreciated! We also canβt wait to hear the sounds of our talented school musicians as they prepare for the upcoming Christmas Concert, showcasing all their hard work and dedication. Thanksgiving is about more than just the foodβitβs about the thankfulness we share with each other. Father-Son Basketball, Junior Rosary Club, and Interactive Social Studies Projects! π βοΈπ
This autumn week at the Diocese of Rockville Centre Catholic schools included many athletic, academic, and spiritual accomplishments! DRVC Catholic schools students carried on a fantastic Father-Son Basketball game tradition and finished up a soccer season filled with good friends and great memories. On the academic side of things, students participated in fun and interactive science and social studies projects. Additionally, DRVC students grew in their faith and fellowship with an uplifting Junior Rosary Club. As Thanksgiving approaches, along with Advent and Christmas, we look forward to all of the joyful and time-honored traditions that our Diocese of Rockville Centre Catholic schools will be celebrating in the coming weeks!

Who is St. Martin of Tours?
St. Martin of Tours was a very kind person who lived a long time ago, around 316 AD, when the Roman Empire was still around. He was born in a place called Savaria, which is now part of Hungary. Instead of thinking only about himself, he cared a lot about helping others and teaching them about God’s love.
