This week’s “Teacher Spotlight” is Mr. Giolando, he is a fun and dedicated Religion teacher for 6th-8th graders at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School in Deer Park!
Mr. Salvatore is a well-educated individual, having completed his Bachelor’s degree in Theology and Psychology from The Catholic University of America, a Master’s degree in Theology from The University of Notre Dame ECHO Program, and attended Kellenberg Memorial High School. His academic achievements reflect a strong commitment to learning and a desire to expand his knowledge in the field of theology.
Aside from Mr. Giorlando’s teaching responsibilities, he is a committed STORM (St. Oscar Romero Mission) Coordinator who draws inspiration from the courageous witness of St. Oscar Romero of El Salvador. The STORM program is built on the three pillars of spirituality, scholarship, and service that defined St. Oscarβs life and mission. He also leads weekly parish/school Masses at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Mr. Giorlando is passionate about helping his students strengthen their faith and guiding them to discover their place within the church.
Mr. Giorlando is a creative and engaging teacher who uses live-action Bible retellings in his class to bring the scriptures to life for his students. By having his students act out various parts of the stories, he is able to provide a more immersive and interactive experience, helping them to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the lessons that can be learned from the Bible.
Thank you, Mr. Giorlando, for your dedication to helping shape the next generation of faithful individuals. Your passion for helping young people discover their role in the Church is an inspiration. We are grateful for the important act of service you provide to God and the community!
