During these difficult days, when so many restrictions are placed on our normal lives, Long Island’s parish and regional elementary schools and diocesan high schools have provided reassurance for their school communities.
Our schools have maintained routines and contact with students and families. Our parents are especially grateful for the way administrators and teachers have responded during this time. They are appreciative the many ways schools have continued to connect, such as “spirit days”, gathering together virtually for prayer, live classroom sessions, and more! We are especially grateful to our parents for their support during this time.
Here is what some parents had to say:
“I want to personally thank you, the teachers and the principals for an outstanding job.” EV
“I have spoken to many parents, with kids in both private and public schools in both New York and New Jersey. There is no one that I spoke with whose children are doing what my daughter is…She thrives on order and schedules and you have provided just that.” MF
“The handling of this crisis…has been nothing short of amazing. Your teachers have been on point with their daily workload and check-ins- as well as their responses to both my kids and to myself. I can honestly say that none of my children have felt stressed or nervous thanks to how you have all handled everything.” KL
“People are amazed, grateful, and impressed by how your diocesan schools handled everything. You nailed everything!” KH
“Although these are truly uncharted waters for all of us, everyone has stayed in constant (and direct) communication, providing an efficient platform for continued education remotely. I am impressed as I know of many school districts who are coming up short. It is truly reflective of a productive team effort and what a caring school we truly have.” AB
“I am very impressed with how smoothly our school has transitioned to remote learning. I know on your end, it wasn’t easy, but from our end, it was seamless. I can tell you that the public school district I work in can take a few lessons.” KM
