This past Tuesday, October 18th, author Maryann McMahon read her newest book to Kindergarten, First and Second graders at St. Anne’s School in Garden City. The book’s central themes are having confidence, standing up for yourself, and treating others as you want to be treated. The kids enjoyed the story, and the a grownups enjoyed the message!
Fun fact: Before Mr. Paul Morisi became the principal at St. Anne’s School in Garden City, NY, he was a teacher at a in Queens, NY. It was there that Ms. Maryann served as the school’s Assistant Principal. When Principal Morisi heard that Ms. Maryann had completed a new book, he invited her to his school.

Ms. McMahon has recently retired from a career as a passionate, lifelong Educator. She had been in the Academic Realm for many years as a Pre-K, Kindergarten, First, Fifth-and-Sixth Grade Teacher, Assistant Principal and Pre-K For All Director. During the years instructing her young students in Elmhurst, New York, Maryann authored multiple stories to spark imaginations, stimulate creativity and enhance knowledge in those entrusted to her care.
