Who is St. Martin of Tours?
St. Martin of Tours was a very kind person who lived a long time ago, around 316 AD, when the Roman Empire was still around. He was born in a place called Savaria, which is now part of Hungary. Instead of thinking only about himself, he cared a lot about helping others and teaching them about God’s love.
A Week of All Saints’ Day Celebrations, a Jog-A-Thon, and Whimsical Election Lessons! βͺοΈπββοΈπ¨
The past week at the Diocese of Rockville Centre has been filled with exciting and enriching lessons about our faith’s greatest role models and our nation’s governmental system. Last Friday, schools from all around the Diocese celebrated All Saints’ Day in their own unique ways, with saint parades, presentations, Masses, and even saint bingo! This week, many younger students had fun learning about elections through whimsical candidates, such as Lego characters, stuffed animals, and snack foods. What an exciting week at the Diocese of Rockville Centre Catholic schools!

St. Martin de Porres has had a lasting impact on Catholicism through his perseverance and courageous witness to the faith.Β He lived in constant humility and let no obstacle, whether personal, societal, or legal, hold him back from living the faith in a profound and unique way.Β He performed many impressive miracles throughout his life and was well-known for his work serving the destitute communities in his hometown of Lima, Peru.
A Week of Halloween Fun, Athletic Accomplishments, & Culinary Lessons! πππ
It’s the week of All Hallows’ Eve at the Diocese of Rockville Centre Catholic Schools, which is not only a very fun time for students and families to grow in community and fellowship, but also is an important time before 2 prominent holidays in our faith: All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. Students have enjoyed some Halloween fun with friends during Trunk or Treat events and pumpkin decorating. Students have enjoyed successes inside and outside the classroom, with formative engineering lessons, cross country glory, and delicious cooking lessons!
A Week of High School Visits, Technology Training, & Trunk-or-Treat Fun! π«π»π
Fall is in full swing at the Diocese of Rockville Centre Catholic Schools, and students have enjoyed yet another wonderful week filled with exciting school visits, delicious food, great friends, and valuable academic lessons! Many 8th grade DRVC students are looking toward the next chapter of their academic journey with visits to several of our areas fine Catholic high schools. Meanwhile, other students are enjoying Halloween and the fall season with events, such as trunk-or-treat and a visit to the pumpkin patch.
