Holy Angels Regional School rolled proudly through Patchogue’s 60th Annual Christmas parade on Saturday, November 26th. This was a fun day for students and their families as we kick off their 100 year anniversary in 2023!
Holy Angels students of all ages marched in the parade alongside principal Mrs. Stewart. The float itself was built by a group of parents from the Holy Angels parent teacher partnership. This year’s theme was the Nativity, and students wore their Holy Angels spirit wear and/or nativity costumes. Our art teacher Mrs. Rahner made a beautiful 100 year banner for the front of the float.
Historically, this parade was always a special event for Holy Angels families, but the celebration was halted during COVID-19. This was the first year Holy Angels returned to the event and it was wonderful to be back involved!
Holy Angels Regional School will soon be celebrating its Centennial Year in 2023. In 1923, the Holy Union Sisters founded St. Francis DeSales school. In January 1977 the school was renamed Holy Angels Regional School with new support from seven nearby parishes. But the school keeps a strong connection to the Holy Union Sisters. Recently the sisters gave the school a generous grant for improving learning technology.
Special thanks to all the parishes in the area who support the school:
- St. Francis de Sales Parish, Patchogue
- Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Patchogue
- Mary Immaculate Parish, Bellport
- St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Coram
- St. Joseph the Worker Parish, East Patchogue
- St. Margaret of Scotland Parish, Selden
- St. Sylvester Parish, Medford
Alumni from Holy Angels Regional School should be excited for 2023. Rumor has it that there will be something big, maybe a Centennial Gala? ◼️
