This week, we are honored to shine the Teacher Spotlight on Mrs. Christi Abbate. Mrs. Abbate currently teaches third grade at St. William the Abbot in Seaford. She holds a BA in Environmental Planning from Binghamton University and has earned an MA in General Education and Special Education in Grades 1-6 from Touro University, New York City.
With two years of teaching third grade, Mrs. Abbate not only excels as a dedicated teacher but also embraces additional responsibilities that amplify her impact. As the Basketball Club Moderator, she empowers young athletes to unlock their full potential. Additionally, Mrs. Abbate’s role as the moderator for the Get Up and Move Club fosters a vibrant culture of physical activity throughout the school community. It is her unwavering commitment to both teaching and extracurricular engagement that truly sets her apart as a standout educator!

As a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes in West Islip, Mrs. Abbate takes on significant roles. As a devoted member, she fulfills the positions of a CYO Director and a Coach, actively engaging with the youth in both spiritual and athletic endeavors.
In her capacity as a Catholic educator, Mrs. Abbate embraces a profound commitment to the mission of Catholic education. Her primary focus is to impart knowledge about Jesus, His life, and His teachings to her students. Through her unwavering dedication, she guides them on the path of living as authentic followers of Christ.
